As I posted in earlier posts, the rumors were true, the information leaked before Ubisoft Forward turned out to be true. Far Cry 6 on PS4 has been officially announced for February 18, 2021. The game is coming to Play Station 4, Play Station 5, Xbox, Google Stadia and PC (via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store). Free upgrades will be available on PS5 for PS4 owners.
Where does Far Cry 6 take place?
The main star of the game will be played by the famous actor Giancarlo Esposito. Esposito will play a character named Anton Castillo, a dictator of a tropical paradise called Yara, inspired by Cuba. Destination of the game is the most similar to destination of the original Far Cry game and Far Cry 3 from 2012. Yara will not only be a tropical island, because Far Cry 6 will be the first game in the series to feature a big city called Esperanza. And as the opponent is a great dictator, he has his army armed with tanks and heavy artillery. The player is a member of the guerrilla movement and will often have to use improvised weapons, one of which you can see in the picture below from the game.
One more thing that will be similar to earlier games, and was left out from Far Cry 5 and New Dawn is that the main character will have his own voice. Dani Rojas will be able to be male or female, depending on the player’s choice, and we will see him in directed cutscenes, which means that the series will move away from animation from a first-person perspective.
There was talk that the game mechanics of comrades from Far Cry 5 would return in Far Cry 6. We had a bear called Cheesburger there, but here Ubisoft went much further than that. One of the helpers in the game will be the dog Chorizo, a dachshund who is disabled, but that did not stop him from becoming a revolutionary dog.
